Wholesale Auto Prices Decline

Wholesale depreciation continued at a pace similar to the previous week, with the overall market declining 0.73% as truck and SUV segments again outpaced cars in depreciation, according to Black Book Market Insights.

Auction activity remained steady, but buyers became increasingly selective, continuing to reward clean, well-equipped, retail-ready inventory while applying greater discounts to higher-mileage vehicles, lower-content trims, and less desirable configurations. This growing separation between the strongest- and weakest-performing vehicles remains the defining trend in today’s wholesale market.
