Ford Recalls More Than 223,000 F-150s Over Fuel Tank Risk

Ford Motor Company is recalling 223,472 F-150 pickup trucks from the 2023-2027 model years because the fuel tank may not be properly secured.

The fuel tank could leak or detach from the vehicle while it is being driven, increasing the risk of a crash or fire.

The recall is identified by NHTSA campaign number 26V578000. Ford’s internal recall number is 26S69.

Dealers will inspect the fuel tank straps and replace them as necessary at no cost to owners.

Ford expects to mail owner notification letters Sept. 21. VINs covered by the recall are expected to be searchable through NHTSA.gov beginning Sept. 14.
