Hyundai Motor America reported total March sales of 84,087 units, a 3% decrease compared with March 2025, reflecting a challenging year-over-year comparison following an unusually strong industry pull ahead last year.

Hyundai delivered historic results across its electrified portfolio to reinforce its balanced portfolio strategy and consumer appeal.
Hyundai delivered its best March ever for hybrid electric vehicle sales, led by Sonata HEV (+150%), Elantra HEV (+92%) and Santa Fe HEV (+31%). Electric vehicle performance was led by IONIQ 5, which achieved its best-ever March total sales, rising 13% year-over-year.

Hyundai closed Q1 with total sales of 205,388 units, a 1% increase year-over-year and the strongest first quarter for total sales in company history. Q1 performance was driven by outstanding results across Hyundai’s portfolio, with strong total sales gains from Santa Fe HEV (+47%), Elantra HEV (+141%), Sonata HEV (+107%), IONIQ 5 (+14%) and Tucson (+4%). Taken together, Q1 performance demonstrates Hyundai’s ability to convert monthly demand into consistent, broad based growth across key nameplates and powertrains.

“Hyundai closed the first quarter with a 1% year-over-year increase in total sales, delivering the strongest first quarter in our history and underscoring the resilience of our business in a highly competitive market,” said Randy Parker, president and CEO, Hyundai Motor America. “That growth reflects the strength of our balanced portfolio strategy, led by strong demand for our SUVs and record results across our hybrid electric and electrified lineup. With the support of our dealers and the confidence of our customers, Hyundai continues to build sustainable momentum across every powertrain and key segment.”
