Genesis has unveiled the GV90, its first full-size flagship SUV and its largest electric vehicle yet, adding a new model to the growing market for luxury three-row EVs.
The GV90 was unveiled Aug. 19 at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco. Genesis says the production model is based on the NEOLUN concept introduced in 2024 and will be offered in two versions: the standard GV90 and the more exclusive GV90 Neolun.
The vehicle rides on Genesis' dedicated eMP (Electric Mobility Prime) platform and has a 127.8-inch wheelbase. Genesis is positioning it as its new flagship, combining a large luxury SUV format with an extensive list of technology and driver-assistance features.
310-Mile Estimated Range
The GV90 uses a 123.5-kWh battery, the largest battery capacity in a Hyundai Motor Group EV, according to Genesis.
The seven-seat GV90 has an estimated range of approximately 310 miles on a single charge, based on Genesis' internal R&D testing. With a 350-kilowatt fast charger, Genesis says the battery can charge from 10% to 80% in about 22 minutes.
The dual-motor powertrain produces a combined maximum 657 horsepower and 590 lb.-ft. of torque, giving the GV90 one of the highest output figures among Hyundai Motor Group EVs.
The GV90 also gets dual electronic limited-slip differentials, multi-chamber air suspension and rear-wheel steering. The rear wheels can turn as much as five degrees, which Genesis says reduces the turning radius to roughly that of a midsize car.
Neolun Adds Coach Doors
The GV90 Neolun is distinguished by its Neolun Arch Gate, featuring hidden B-pillars and independently operating coach-style doors.
Genesis says the design allows the front and rear doors to open toward each other, creating a wider opening for entering and exiting the vehicle.
Despite eliminating the conventional visible B-pillar, Genesis says the structure incorporates high-strength steel beams and a reinforced passenger compartment designed to provide crash protection equivalent to vehicles with conventional B-pillars.
The Neolun is also available with a four-seat Executive Suite configuration featuring reclining luxury seating, a refrigerator, tables, privacy features and a Smart Vision Roof.
Technology Takes Center Stage
The GV90 packs an extensive collection of electronic features, including a 23.6-inch pop-up OLED Cinematic Display, a 25-inch head-up display and Genesis' Pleos Connect infotainment platform.
The vehicle also introduces Gleo AI, an onboard generative AI agent designed to allow occupants to control functions and search for information using natural conversation. Remote Smart Parking Assist 3 and Memory Reversing Assist are also available.
Genesis is also emphasizing the cabin experience. Available features include a 25-speaker Bang & Olufsen 3D audio system with Dolby Atmos, Ambient Glow lighting, heated windshield technology and seats equipped with 15 individual air cells and pulse vibration functions.
A New Flagship for Genesis
The GV90 measures 5,285 millimeters in length and rides on 24-inch forged wheels. Genesis is offering 16 exterior colors, including 13 gloss and three matte finishes.
Genesis also unveiled a limited GV90 Neolun First Edition, based on the four-seat Executive Suite configuration. The First Edition gets exclusive two-tone exterior combinations, body-color 24-inch forged wheels and additional interior details.
