-
Customer & Delivery Impact: The integration creates a new local inventory pool that expands vehicle selection nationwide, enables same-day delivery options for nearby North Carolina customers, and provides enhanced reconditioning services for wholesale buyers.
-
Economic & Operational Scale: Powered by Carvana’s proprietary CARLI software platform, the site expansion will generate approximately 100 skilled and entry-level jobs with comprehensive benefits in Mecklenburg County.

Carvana Adds Recon Operation to ADESA Charlotte
Carvana is expanding its reconditioning network in North Carolina, bringing its Inspection and Reconditioning Center (IRC) operations to the company’s existing ADESA Charlotte wholesale auction facility.
The integration is expected to add reconditioning capacity and create a new pool of retail inventory for Carvana. The company said the move will support broader vehicle selection, faster delivery for North Carolina customers and additional services for local wholesale buyers.
Carvana has begun hiring for the operation and expects it to create about 100 jobs over time in inspection, reconditioning and vehicle fulfillment. The positions include both skilled and entry-level roles and do not require a college degree, according to the company.
The roughly 50-acre ADESA Charlotte property has nearly 4,000 parking spaces and has served wholesale auction customers for more than 30 years. The new IRC operation will operate alongside the existing wholesale auction business, including ADESA’s in-lane and digital auction services.
For retail customers, the added inventory pool is expected to expand local vehicle availability and support delivery options as soon as the same day in the Charlotte area.
Carvana said its proprietary CARLI software platform will support the transition, with the system used across its reconditioning network to help standardize and manage vehicle processing.
The Charlotte expansion follows similar moves at other ADESA locations as Carvana continues integrating its retail and wholesale operations. Carvana announced IRC capabilities at ADESA Brasher’s in September and has also added the model at ADESA locations including Sarasota.
