Go Auto Adds Historic Toyota of Hollywood to U.S. Portfolio

Canadian dealership group Go Auto has expanded its U.S. footprint with the acquisition of Toyota of Hollywood in Los Angeles, adding one of Toyota's most historic dealerships to its growing portfolio.

The dealership, founded in 1957, was the first Toyota dealership in North America. It operates on Sunset Boulevard and will retain the Toyota of Hollywood name under Go Auto ownership.

The acquisition gives Edmonton-based Go Auto eight dealerships in the United States, including three in California. Across North America, the group now operates 70 dealerships representing 26 automotive brands.

Toyota of Hollywood's history goes back to Toyota's earliest efforts to establish itself in the U.S. market. The dealership's Hollywood connection is also quite literal: an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm was filmed at the store, with Larry David appearing as a car salesman.

Go Auto President Phil Abram said the dealership's history made it a unique addition to the group's portfolio.

The acquisition continues Go Auto's expansion in the U.S., which began in 2023. The company has added several dealerships in California and other U.S. markets as it builds its North American operation.
