A six-brand dealership in southeast Iowa has changed hands, giving Lani Automotive Group its first entry into franchised dealership ownership.
Sean Veilani and Sam Saghbini of Lani Automotive Group acquired the Mount Pleasant Chevrolet, GMC, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram dealership from Coleman Automotive Group in a deal that closed Oct. 1, according to industry reporting published Oct. 7. The store is located at 2301 E. Washington St. in Mount Pleasant.
The acquisition marks a change for both groups. For Lani Automotive Group, it opens a new chapter in franchised auto retail. For Coleman Automotive Group, the sale follows an expansion push that included the acquisition of McGrath Nissan in Elgin, Illinois, in May 2026.
Kyle Coleman founded Coleman Automotive Group in 2024 with a stated goal of growing to 40 dealerships over 10 years. He has described a shift in strategy from buying smaller rural stores toward opportunities in metropolitan markets.
