Nissan North America, Inc. is recalling certain 2023-f equipped with 3-cylinder 1.5L variable compression turbo (VC-Turbo) engines.
Increased temperatures can break down the engine oil, which may cause the engine bearings to seize and become damaged, leading to engine failure.
The NHTSA ID number is 26V080000.
The potential number of units affected is 323,917.
Dealers will reprogram the engine control module (ECM) software, inspect for diagnostic trouble codes, and test drive the vehicle, free of charge. The dealer may also inspect the oil pan for metal debris and replace the engine if necessary. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner letters are expected to be mailed March 27, 2026. Nissan’s numbers for this recall are R25E2 and R25E3. This recall expands previous NHTSA recall number 25V437. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning Feb. 27, 2026.
